Question: Dear Sapfans,

I would like to set a material to be "batch-managed" in the material master-> plant data/stor1 view. in the "batch-managment" flag. An error occurs if there are SD open documents...
I cannot erase the documents or complete them...
Is it a posibiliti of setting the material to be "batch-managed", whitout having to change the documents?

Thank you

Answer:
Hey,
You cannot change the batch mgmt status in material master until you have stocks in your warehouse.

Answer:
Hi Ari55,

One more qurey related to Batch Management.

We have 100 Plants in SAP for which the item is maintained.

In this we want to tick the Batch Management for 5 Plant codes which are our Direct Warehouses and which needs Batch Management ticked for uploading Sales Order/Delivery/Invoices from the sales extract from our legacy system.

Net net we want Batch Mgmt. unticked for 95 plants and ticked for 5 plants for the same material code.

Is it possible ?

Please guide

Thanks & Rgds

Answer:
This is only possible with batch level "plant specific".
If you have chosen material or client level, then this is not possible.

And such decisions should be made before the material is used the first time.
With 100 plants, you will never be able to change the status at a later time, as there are so many limitiations.
